ART CLASSES – FALL 2010

Attention will be given in all classes to understanding art from a Christian perspective.

Exploring 2D Art: Mary DeClerico

For grades 3-5.

This class introduces students to several kinds of two-dimensional media.  Students will learn about several styles of art and the artists who made them famous. Media will include tempera paint, crayon, linoleum, ink, pastel and pencil.

Monday, 2:45-3:45pm, Annex 1

Tuition: $14 per class, Materials fee: $10

 

Exploring 3D Art: Mary DeClerico

For grades 3-5.

This class is designed to introduce students to several kinds of three-dimensional media. Students will learn about well-known artists and their work.  Media will include, but are not limited to, clay, balsa foam and other found objects.

Monday, 4:00-5:00pm, Annex 1

Tuition: $14 per class, Materials fee: $15

 

Introduction to Painting: Mary DeClerico

For grades 6-9. Prerequisites: Drawing I, Color & Design, Drawing II.

This class is designed to introduce students to a variety of painting media and subject matter.  Tempera, watercolor and acrylic paint will be used.

Hand Built Ceramics I: Mary DeClerico

For grades 6-9.

This class is designed to introduce students to hand-built ceramics.  Pinch, coil and slab techniques will be explored.  All pieces will be fired and glazed.

Thursday, 3:00-4:00pm, Annex 1

Tuition: $14 per class, Materials fee: $15

 

Drawing I: Mary DeClerico

For grades 6-9.

This class is designed to help students begin to develop basic drawing skills.   Elements and principles of art will be discussed and studied.  Students will be introduced to a variety of drawing media and subject matter.  Pencil, charcoal and Conte’ crayon will be used.

PHOTOGRAPHY COURSES

Photography I: Christopher John Zawislak.

This class is intended to introduce students to the inspirational art of photography. We will be looking at the world differently while learning fundamentals of digital photography for the beginner. This class offers a well rounded introduction of design concepts, a little history and fun exercises of photography.  See Christopher John’s website at www.cjpix.com
