In our worship here at HBC, we strive to reflect
the transforming power of Jesus Christ;
in the scriptures that are read,
the sermons that are preached,
the prayers that are prayed, and
the songs and hymns and spiritual songs
that are sung and/or played.
It is our goal that our “words of worship”
will draw you closer to Jesus, the divine giver of life
and the only true source of hope.
There are many different ways in which people serve and support the Worship and Music Ministries here at Hilltown:
Worship & Music Prayer Team
First and foremost, we need prayer! This intercessory prayer team is open to all who will choose to make praying for the worship and music ministries a top priority. You will be committing to pray for our worship services, activities, ensembles, directors, and presentations. Please contact Sharon Strause for more info on being part of this vital ministry!
Praise Team
This ministry consists of singers and instrumentalists who lead in worship year round during the worship service. This contemporary ensemble features all voice types, guitars, drums, piano, keyboards, brass, woodwinds and strings, and is open to high school aged and older. Audition and screening are required. Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings (8-9pm) and Sunday mornings (8:00-9:00am). Please contact Sharon Strause for more info on this exciting ministry team.
Sanctuary Choir
This ministry also leads in the worship service from September through mid-June. The choir, along with other musical and drama teams, also present special presentations throughout the year. It is open to all, high school aged and older. No auditions are required. Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings (7-8:30pm). Please contact Sharon Strause for more info on this exciting ministry team.
Hilltown Symphonia
This ministry is our orchestral ensemble at HBC, assisting in worship leading several times a year. Open to all instrumentalists who have three or more years of ensemble playing experience, the Hilltown Symphonia is involved in the special celebrations of Christmas and Easter as well as other special presentations during the year. Drama Team
This ministry is featured during special presentations as well as on occasional Sunday mornings. This ministry includes dramatic readers, actors and actresses, bringing to life the truths of God's Word. This growing ministry is open to performers of all ages and all levels of ability. Technical Ministries Team
To ensure that our worship services are done with excellence in a high-tech age, there is a need for those gifted in many technical areas. Video Computer Operators serve by running the PowerPoint and video programs during the worship services. The Sound Operators serve by balancing and mixing the microphones so that the best sound is provided. Videographers tape and/or video broadcast our services. Technical Assistants serve by setting up and taking down equipment before, during and/or between services on Sunday mornings.
