Wednesday Night Awana Ministry

What is Awana?

The name "Awana" (Approved workmen are not ashamed) is taken from 2 Timothy 2:15: "Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth."

Awana is a ministry for children that emphasizes Biblical teaching that relates to your child's age and experiences.
 
Game time features ultra-fun physical activity and competition that engages ALL children.

Scripture memorization, positive friendships, adult affirmation and encouragement are all part of an Awana ministry experience.

Throughout the program, we will learn together the basics of a relationship with God through consistent and positive training on how to thrive in team and group settings.

Another exciting Awana experience: awards and recognition are given to each child for their accomplishments!

  

What happens at Awana?

Opening Ceremonies

The clubbers meet in the main sanctuary (auditorium) to begin each Awana Club night with songs and prayer.

Group Time

This is the time when each club has their Bible lesson; lessons are tailored to each age group. The kids have a great time learning about Jesus!

Handbook Time

During this time the children are divided into small groups to give them the opportunity to learn and recite verses from "sections" in their books; each child works at their own pace!

Game Time

The clubs rotate into the gym for game time; this is a fun time for the kids (with their leaders!) to interact and play.

Closing Ceremonies

At the end of each meeting the clubbers join together to celebrate what they have learned and their accomplishments. Awards are given out at this time. 

What do parents do during Awana?

There are Bible studies for women and men that takes place at the same time as the Awana Clubs. We invite parents and grandparents to stay and get a "mid-week-pick-me-up"! Additionally, our Jr. High student ministry, "remix", meets during this time. 

Awana is also a great time for parents or grandparents to be involved in the Spiritual development of their children. The $20 registration fee (per clubber) helps our church with the awards, supplies, books, uniforms, etc. Some Awana programs collect weekly "dues" to cover this cost. We find that it is more convenient to collect the fees at the time of registration. (NOTE- the church does not make any money from the AWANA program!)
