Advancing Composers—Paragraph II: Chris Koch, Teacher
Students who have taken the Aspiring Wordsmiths paragraph writing course have the opportunity to advance to the next level. Students will strengthen their skills in writing strong pieces and learn various types of paragraph writing. Expository, persuasive, descriptive and narrative paragraph will be included in our writing adventure. Max: 8

Explorations in Literature: Janine Burgan, Teacher
Grades 6-7
This session in Explorations in Literature, we will focus our attention on the literature of the Roman World. We will read two novels set in Ancient Rome: Detectives in Togas, by Henry Winterfield, and The Bronze Bow, by Elizabeth George Speare. We will end the session with a reading and class-based production of an adaptation of Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar.” Subject matter will have ties to what is being studied in the Sculpture course taught by Mary DeClerico.
