LITERATURE CLASSES – FALL 2010

Every aspiring writer’s class begins with writing tools.  Students learn and review how to use various writing tools in order to think and to create inspired works. Then we examine and practice the specific type of writing.  For each class, students will need pencils, a three ring binder with paper, and their imaginations.

Aspiring Wordsmiths-Paragraph Writing: Chris Koch, For grades 4-8.

The first level paragraph class is designed to teach and to sharpen the students’ ability to create paragraphs, a truly foundational skill. Students will examine the structure of the paragraph and practice using the writing process, as well as writing tools, to develop many strong works. (Max. 8 students)

Thursday, 10:00-11:15am, Chapel

Tuition: $15 per class

Aspiring Wordsmiths-Essay Writing:
Chris Koch, Teacher

For grades 6 and up.                          

Students will examine the structure of the essay, particularly the 5 paragraph essay. Using the writing process, as well as writing tools, they will develop several pieces. (Max. 8 students)

Thursday, 11:15am-12:30pm, Chapel

Tuition: $15 per class

Aspiring Wordsmiths-Write Right, Write!:  Chris Koch, Teacher

For grades 3-8.

Writing is everywhere — newspapers, magazines, reports, e-mails.  Through examination, study and use of tools, students will learn to communicate more effectively in many areas of their writing world.  (Max. 8 students)

Thursday, 1:00-2:15pm, Chapel

Tuition: $15 per class
